Summary
Powders are a lot like electricity --- sometimes a little knowledge is more dangerous than none at all. I am an experienced process development and project engineer who specializes in storage, handling, and processing of particulate solids.

I especially enjoy providing training, troubleshooting and process development. If you have a batch process that involves bulk solids, I can probably help you convert it into a continuous process. Or if you just need flow property testing of your bulk material and recommendations for storing and handling it, I can provide those services. If your spray dryer is making products that have poor flowability, I can modify it so that it makes free flowing powders.

I am a co-inventor of a continuous solvent-free process for removing THC from marijuana. I’ve never touched the product or the starting material. For me, it was just an interesting bulk solids handling and processing project.

The ninth edition of Perry's Chemical Engineers' Handbook has been published, and I am excited to be the author of the subsection on bulk solids flow and hopper and chute design. I have a doctorate in chemical engineering from the University of Colorado, but I like to say that I received a Ph.D. in process development from Cabot Corporation and a Ph.D. in bulk solids handling from Jenike & Johanson, Inc.

Expert on handling and processing challenging materials such as carbon black and fumed silica. Professional experience includes manufacturing, research and development, consulting, and training. Spray drying knowledge includes bench, laboratory, pilot, and commercial equipment.
