Abstract
Tired of the stock market roller coaster and the low interest CDs? Do you know that IRS rules allow you great flexibility to invest your retirement funds in a wide array of investment opportunities, including tangible assets such as rental real estate, storage pods or precious metals (not just ETF's)? Take away the fear of paper assets going to zero overnight and invest in tangible assets in your local area. Learn how to improve your returns and protect your retirement accounts with alternative assets such as real estate, mortgage notes secured by real estate, precious metals, etc. Your broker has not you told about this capability and it has been available since 1974.
The main speaker at the Oct 9 CCN meeting will be Carl Fischer, principal at Cama SDIRA LLC who is also a former rocket scientist and understands how conservative compliant scientists and engineers think and make decisions. Carl will review IRS guidelinesabout what can and can't be done within various types of retirement accounts and you will learn that it's not what you think, especially if you had a 401k at a large company like DuPont or Rohm and Haas or an IRA with a major stock broker. Carl will explain the principles of self-directed retirement accounts and describe how to set up and manage such accounts.
Dr. Marc Halpern, a CCN member since 1996, will give you real world examples of using his self-directed retirement accounts since 2007 to consistently achieve yields of 15% to 50% per year, EVERY YEAR since 2007 (including the "bad years" of 2008-2009), all of which was either tax free in his self-directed Roth 401k or tax-deferred in his self-directed individual 401k. In Marc's case, these were low risk investments because they were either in tangible real estate or secured by real estate.
Self direction uses your knowledge and expertiseand can be accomplished without any penalties or taxes and for a very nominal fee, all fully compliant with IRS rules. This strategy can be utilized to provide tax free income for your lifeand also for your heirs' lifetimes.
